Routes

These routes are our 'classics'!  Last year we came up with new routes due to road construction.  This year we're happy to report that the new pavement (!) is complete and we're returning to our original routes.

Whether you are a casual rider or looking for a challenging end-of-the-season route, we have a ride for you! Here are your choices:

Route 1 - approx. 25km

Starting at the Lunenburg Curling Club (21 Green Street, Lunenburg, NS), you'll ride towards Mahone Bay along the ocean. At Mader's Cove, the shore road meets #3 where you will turn back towards Lunenburg and return to the curling club.

Its a flat, scenic route that would be suitable for just about anyone.

For more details, check-out the online map of Route 1 [ here ].

Route 2 - approx. 50km

Starting at the Lunenburg Curling Club (21 Green Street, Lunenburg, NS), you'll ride towards Mahone Bay along the ocean. At Mader's Cove, the shore road meets #3 where you will turn back towards Lunenburg and continue on to Riverport, up the Lahave River to the Grimm Road and then back to Lunenburg

The route is mainly flat with a few small hills (Okay,  one big one as you go onto the Grimm Road :-)  Much of the ride is along the ocean.

50k riders can enjoy a snack at the Lahave Bakery by taking the ferry across the Lahave.  It makes for a very pleasant break about 1/2 way thru the ride.  The snack is included in your registration and the ferry ride is FREE for cyclists!

This route would be suitable for someone that has some riding experience.

Route 3 - approx. 100km

Starting at the Lunenburg Curling Club (21 Green Street, Lunenburg, NS),  you'll ride towards Mahone Bay along the ocean. At Mader's Cove, the shore road meets #3 where you will turn back towards Lunenburg and continue on to Riverport, up the Lahave River to Bridgewater where you cross to the west side and continue back down the river to Lahave (a good time to take a break at the Lahave Bakery!), cross on the ferry and back to Lunenburg

If you like to ride, this is a gorgeous one. And the trip on the ferry is a real treat. If you've been looking for a reason to ride your first 100K  or a way to end your cycling season on a high note, this is the ride for you!
